Q. My child is starting to get permanent teeth. I am worried, though, because his teeth have either a greenish or a brownish hue.

A. When your child’s permanent teeth are developing in the jaws, they are bordered by a soft tissue membrane which allows the teeth to get the color of the food he eats. Normal brushing will help remove this, or you can bring him to his dentist to get professional cleaning or prophylaxis.
